Alfreton Town look to avoid a third straight defeat as 12th placed Farsley Celtic arrive to the Impact Arena on Saturday in the National League North, kick off is 3pm behind closed doors.
The ongoing saga of allowing supporters into stadiums at non league level has stretched on with the Reds considered as 'Elite', all of our league fixtures will be played behind closed doors as instructed by government guidelines and protocols. However we hope to welcome our supporters back to the Impact Arena and back on the road as soon as possible and as soon as government guidelines will allow to do so.
The fixture will be streamed once again live from 2.30pm by ATFCTV and we thank season ticket holder John Hunt for his donation to the club and his co-commentary for the Reds defeat to Brackley on Saturday. We are pleased to welcome 12 match pass holder David Bedlow for tomorrow's game and we thank David for his donation. As always Amar Sharma will be joined on co-commentary by Nathan Evans, with David Bedlow our guest co-commentator for this fixture.
Alfreton fell to a second defeat in a row on Saturday as Brackley ran out 2-0 winners at the Impact. It was the Reds first home defeat of the season and a performance which wasn't lacking in effort and determination but a display which saw us lack the cutting edge in front of goal. It was a relatively even start with the Reds staying organised throughout the first period, we had a few half chances with Nicky Walker and Elliott Reeves in the first half, James Jones coming closest in the second.
The Saints took their chances and dominated the ball for good periods. Mitford heading home unmarked in the first half before Shane Byrne scored direct from a corner with 20 minutes to go. It was a case of Brackley creating the better chances more frequently and Alfreton will need to find their goal-scoring touch again in order to re-find form.
We head into tomorrow's fixture looking to avoid a third straight defeat and a third game without scoring. The Reds hadn't conceded two goals in a game for the opening four league games, we've now conceded two goals in back to back games (Bradford PA, Brackley).
Following defeat to Brackley, the Reds have won just one of the opening six league games, we'll be looking to avoid a second straight loss at the Impact and in turn pick up our first win at home this season.
Farsley currently sit 12th in the league table with six points from seven games, they are level on points with us having played a game more.
Their current playing record stands at: P7, W1, D3, L3.
The Celts have only won twice in all competitions this season (2-1 v Radcliffe FA Cup, 1-0 v Gateshead NLN), they have won just one of their opening seven league games; however they are unbeaten in their last three league games following Tuesday's draw at Blyth (W1, D2).
Farsley have yet to win away from home this season, (L3, D1) picking up their first away point at Blyth, the visitors will be looking to avoid a fourth defeat in five league games on the road.
A HAT-TRICK?: Alfreton will be aiming to avoid a third straight loss at home to Farsley with the Celts winning their last two visits to us (2-4 in 2019, 0-2 in the FA Trophy in 2018)

The last meeting between the sides came in February as Danny Elliott, then on loan to us from Chester; gave us the lead with a low finish which hit the post and went in. The Celts would equalise a few minutes later as Adam Clayton powered a header home from a few yards to see the points shared.
