After a confirmed positive test of Covid-19 within the squad on Tuesday 13th October ahead of our FA Cup 3QR tie at FC United, the Reds have been in a period of isolation with our fixture against Kidderminster called off, AFC Fylde's visit to us on the 24th October was postponed due to the Coaster's involvement in the FA Cup.
It's been a quiet period for the Reds following our disappointing withdrawal from the FA Cup but safety for all takes the top priority and certainly safety for all within the club. The period without fixtures will have progressed player's injury recoveries and the Reds will be hoping to be closer to full strength than we were three weeks ago.
The Reds league season begun with back to back 1-1 draws at Curzon on the opening night (5/10) as we fought to an intense point. Dominic Knowles gave the hosts the lead in the first half before James Jones planted a header home in first half stoppage time.
We then faced promotion fancied Spennymoor Town on 10/10 and the Reds again produced a fantastic performance of counter attacking football and solid defending again to earn a point in one of our best performances against the Moors. Elliott Reeves latched onto a mistake just before the break to cancel out Glen Taylor's penalty.
