Alfreton Town make the journey to Edgar Street tomorrow night to take on fellow mid-table side Hereford, in the National League North, kick off is 7.45pm.
The Reds will be looking to bounce back again after defeat, with Chester handing us another league loss on Saturday as the Seals claimed a 3-0 win.
In a game in which both sides looked out of form and the theme of the contest was a scrappy one; Chester took the lead after we made a mess of clearing the ball in the box. Shane Killock's clearance hit Livesey who was on the deck and the ball squirmed in.
We had chances with Amari firing over the bar, Bobby hitting a free kick over and Killock's header hitting the top of the crossbar. But the second half saw two poor goals conceded with Livesey grabbing his second with a strong shot in the box.
Elliott scored a bizarre third in the 89th minute in which he capitalised on a free kick within the Alfreton area to plant a shot past Charlie Andrew. Initially the Chester corner went straight in with the hosts celebrating the goal, however a foul was given on Charlie Andrew, the Reds took it quickly and with only half the players really aware of the decision, Elliott capitalised with his interception to finish.
The Reds will be desperate now to find form and quickly to avoid dropping off the race, although we are only two points off the play-offs, three points tomorrow will get Alfreton back on track in the National League North and stop the recent rut of league results.
We head into tomorrow night's game with just two wins in our last nine in all competitions. We have lost our last three league games and have not scored in our last two league fixtures. Alfreton will be aiming to avoid a fourth straight league defeat tomorrow night.
On the road, we have won just once in our last five in all competitions (Leamington 0-1).
Hosts Hereford currently sit in 12th place in the league table with 22 points from 15 games, they are one place below us and level on points.
Their current playing record stands at: P15, W6, D4, L5.
The Bulls head into the game win-less in their last three league games (D1, L2). The two defeats have both away from home and both by a 3-2 scoreline at Bradford and then Southport. The hosts then claimed a clean sheet in their last game, a 0-0 draw at Darlington nine days ago.
Hereford's last win came on the 1st October at Leamington (0-2), we'll face as expected a difficult test at Edgar Street tomorrow with Hereford unbeaten at home in the league so far this season (W3, D3). The Bulls will be looking for a third win on the bounce in the league at home, after wins against Kettering and Gateshead back in September.
