Alfreton Town return to action after yet another host of postponements with the visit of the league leaders York City to the Impact Arena tomorrow afternoon, kick off is 3pm.

After postponements against Chester and Gloucester last week, the Reds are fourth in the form table with ten points from the last five.

We haven't played since the 22nd February where we were heavily beaten at Spennymoor 5-0. It was a disappointing display in a game which was billed between two of the form sides within the league but it was only the Moors who showed their quality to claim the points.

Torrential conditions presented another factor to the game but Glen Taylor got the hosts off to the perfect start after just four minutes from the penalty spot following holding in the box, which the referee spotted. Roberts converted from close range just two minutes into the second half to give us a mountain to climb.

Three further goals came in the final 13 minutes as Buddle nodded home from a floated free kick before Ramshaw reacted in the box from a few yards to finish off a loose ball and then his cross from the left curled into the far corner with help from the wind which bamboozled Jordan Wright as the ball looped into the corner.

It was a poor way to end what had been a good run of form for Billy Heath's men and we will be looking to bounce back tomorrow afternoon with the squad no doubt refreshed after last week's postponements and raring to go again with the visit of the Minstermen.

We head into tomorrow's game having lost just once in our last five league fixtures, home form has been fantastic for Alfreton with the Reds aiming for a fourth league win in a row, following our last success in a 1-0 win over Leamington on the 18th February.

We will also be looking to extend the unbeaten run at the Impact to six league games and push back towards the top ten in the league table.

York City arrive to us sitting top of the National League North with 63 points from 33 games, they are two points clear of second placed Kings Lynn but have played four games more.

Their current playing record stands at: P33, W18, D9, L6.

City missed a big chance to increase the gap at the top in mid-week as they suffered a shock and heavy 4-1 home defeat to Hereford. It left the Minstermen just two points clear and now really needing the three points tomorrow to keep themselves at the summit and in turn keep Kings Lynn under pressure to obtain results.

The visitors have won just once (Kidderminster 0-1) in their last four league games and are win-less in their last two fixtures (D1, L1). Away form has seen the Minstermen lose two of their last three on the road at Boston and Kings Lynn but they bode the best away record picking up 31 points from their 16 away trips, with nine of these being wins.

Last Time Out:
Saturday 30th November: York City 1-0 Alfreton Town
The Reds suffered a narrow defeat at Bootham Crescent in the earlier meeting in the season in November. Burrow gave the Minstermen the lead after 13 minutes but it was a game which York should have put to bed with the Reds struggling to create chances throughout the game which proved to be crucial as we fell to defeat.
