Struggling Alfreton Town return to the Impact Arena on Saturday afternoon in a quick turn-around from Boxing Day's defeat at Telford, facing a stern test with the visit of league leaders Kings Lynn. Kick off is 3pm in the National League North.
The Reds are on a real slide, losing the last five games in all competitions with the latest defeat coming on Boxing Day 3-0 at Telford. The form and the slide from the Reds has been alarming seeing us drop from seventh in the league table to 15th.
Boxing Day presented more food for thought for Alfreton as we made it back to back league games without finding the net, drawing yet another blank. However our performance again mirrored two different tempos, with the first half sluggish, the second half better but with first half damage yet again proving crucial.
The Bucks led after 18 minutes through an own goal from Ryan Qualter as he looked to prevent a cross. They added a second just before the break as Barnett finished past Wright on the counter. It was three on 69 as Stenson volleyed home from eight yards to seal a comfortable win for Telford and leave the Reds again going home pointless.
The Reds will look to arrest the current form that we find ourselves in and although we have a healthy cushion to the drop zone at this stage, points accumulation is still a priority to avoid another bottom half of the table finish.
Alfreton head into Saturday's contest having lost the last five games in all competitions and having lost our last four league games. We have not found the net in our last two and currently sit 20th in the form table with only Bradford and Blyth below us.
The Reds have lost the last five at the Impact with our last home win coming against Curzon (3-2) on the 7th September.
This will be our fourth meeting of the season with the Linnets after losing 3-2 at the Walks in the league back on the 3rd September, we then drew Kings Lynn in the FA Cup 2QR with the first game at the Impact ending 1-1, before the Linnets won the replay 2-1, all three games came in September.
Last season's promoted side have took the league by storm and currently sit top of the National League North table with 47 points from 21 games, they are three clear of York City with a game in hand.
Their current playing record stands at: P21, W14, D5, L2.
Kings Lynn head into the game having won nine of their last ten in all competitions and having won eight of their last nine in the league. They have kept a clean sheet in their last five league games and in turn have won their last four in the NLN.
The leaders have played their last four games at home, including the last outing on Boxing Day, a 1-0 win over Boston.
The visitors have only lost twice in the league this season, on the opening day at Guiseley 3-0 and at York in September, 3-0. Recently the Linnets have won their last four away games and will be aiming for a fifth straight away win on Saturday.

The Reds lost the last meeting with the Linnets back in September in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round replay. Goals from Adam Marriott and Nathan Fox sealed a comeback win after Shane Killock had put us ahead after 51 minutes with a far post header which bounced into the bottom corner away from Street in the net. But Kings Lynn replied with Marriott's strike after he latched onto a loose ball in the box beating Andrew who got a leg to it.
Nathan Fox then fired a shot which Andrew got hands too but the ball deflected back-wards and into the net to seal progression for the hosts.
