Alfreton Town make the journey to Bootham Crescent tomorrow afternoon to take on second placed York City in the National League North, kick off is 3pm.
It's been a stop-start period for the Reds and Billy Heath with our last National League North fixture with Gloucester City postponed at the Impact Arena two weeks ago, before our FA Trophy replay with Blyth Spartans was also postponed on Tuesday night, this came after a 1-1 draw at Croft Park last Saturday.
The Reds have played just once in the last few weeks and the FA Trophy draw at Blyth was a game of many chances with Blyth having their fair share and after dominating the first half they deservedly went into the interval 1-0 up thanks to a low finish from Sweet. We then rode our luck throughout the second half but we stepped up into the gears and created plenty ourselves and based off the second half, the draw was a fair result in the end. Harvey Grice's fantastic volley eight minutes from time sealed a replay.
A week's preparation for York has greeted the Reds as we look to inflict just a second league defeat on the Minstermen and a first league defeat on them at home. Alfreton will be aiming to get back into the play-offs with three points tomorrow.
We head into the fixture looking to extend our unbeaten run to three games in all competitions.
Alfreton will also be seeking back to back away league wins after our last success at Hereford (1-2) two weeks ago. The Reds recent away form has seen just two defeats in five in all competitions and we'll be aiming for a second straight win at Bootham Crescent after winning 2-1 last season thanks to goals from Tom Denton and Curtis Bateson.
York City are second in the league table with 36 points from 17 games. They have tasted defeat just once in the league this season (Curzon Ashton 1-0) and have a game in hand on leaders Kings Lynn.
Their current playing record stands at: P17, W10, D6, L1.
City have been strong favourites for the league title and promotion and have lived up to these expectations so far, however recent form has seen struggle for the hosts who head into the game off the back of three defeats in a row. Two of these losses have come to Altrincham in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy both at Bootham Crescent and both by a 1-0 score-line.
York are win-less in their last four in all competitions and will be aiming to avoid a fourth straight defeat and a second straight league defeat. Despite losing to Alty twice, City are unbeaten at home in the league and have the best defence in the division, conceding just ten goals.

Form (Last five):
Reds - LWLWD
York - WDLLL
Last Meeting:
Saturday 2nd February 2019: ATFC 2-3 York City
Our last meeting with the Minstermen was a thriller as a double either side of half-time from Reece Styche cancelled out a Newton opener. However two goals in four minutes on 84 and 88 saw the visitors clinch all three points at the Impact.
