Alfreton Town host Southport looking for a third straight league win as we return to the Impact Arena tomorrow afternoon aiming for a fourth win in five, kick off is 3pm.
The Reds are on a roll as we made it back to back league wins with our first away win of the season at Guiseley on Saturday. It's a quick turnaround as the bank holiday period rolls through.
A rise to fifth in the table greets us after scoring four goals for the second successive league game as we left Yorkshire with three points on Saturday at then second place Guiseley.
After falling behind, we hit back on 25 minutes thanks to a stunner from Bobby Johnson with a free kick. Josh Thacker then gave us the lead ten minutes later with a cracking low strike. The second half proved crazy with many decisions perplexing both sides, including the Lions equaliser which came via an indirect free kick after an apparent back pass even though the ball came off a Lions player last.
However the Reds character shone through yet again and we hit back thanks to Amari Morgan-Smith from the penalty spot, the points were sealed thanks to a Danny Clarke finish late on.
It was another cracking performance from Billy Heath's side who kept composure throughout and made it a third win from the last four. The Reds head back to the Impact Arena where home form has been very good with two wins and a draw from our three home games so far.
We'll be looking to continue our unbeaten run at home so far to four league games and in turn keep a third straight clean sheet at the Impact.
Visitors Southport arrive to us in tenth place in the league table with eight points from six games, they are five places and two points below us. Their last outing saw a 0-1 home defeat by Telford on Saturday.
Their current playing record stands at: P6, W2, D2, L2.
Southport have the divisions second best defence with just three goals conceded in their opening six. But they arrive at the Impact Arena looking to prevent the leagues top scorers from notching again.
Port started the season with four straight clean sheets (D2, W2) but the three goals conceded have come in their last two games which have both been defeats. Southport will be looking to avoid a third straight loss tomorrow afternoon.
