Alfreton Town are thrilled to announce the capture of skillful winger Billy Whitehouse following his departure from divisional rivals Chorley last month.
Whitehouse, 28, is no stranger to the surroundings of the Impact Arena having had a short spell with the Reds in the early weeks of the 2017/18 season under the stewardship of John McDermott who was in the managers hotseat at the time. Billy made 3 appearances in a Ofton shirt before leaving in September 2017 for Shaw Lane AFC.
Since then Whitehouse has enjoyed a varied career which saw him return to Full Time football by signing for The New Saints of the Welsh Premier League. While at TNS Whitehouse enjoyed the distinction of playing in the Europa League against Ludogorets of Hungary and had been selected on the bench against Danish champions FC Copenhagen in the previous round.
More recently Whitehouse has racked up nearly 150 appearances in the black and white stripes of Chorley where he became a cult figure with the fans and a popular member of the dressing room. Whitehouse memorably scored his first career hat trick in a 8-0 mauling of Darlington in November 2023.
Whitehouse, who can also operate as a full back started his career at Doncaster Rovers where he enjoyed a loan spell at FC Halifax Town after being released by Rovers he was signed for an undisclosed fee by Leeds United where he enjoyed a further loan spell at Halifax`s West Yorkshire rivals Guiseley.
