Alfreton Town are pleased to announce the signing of vastly experienced defender Ritchie Sutton on a 1 month loan from National League side Altrincham FC subject to FA approval. The 35 year old defender has garnered a wealth of experience during his career. He began at Crewe but did not make an appearance for them before being loaned out to Leek Town and Stafford Rangers. After further spells in non league with Northwich Victoria and Halifax Town he moved into the Football League with Port Vale.
He then went on to enjoy success with Mansfield Town, helping the Stags to the Conference title in 2012/13 and helping Tranmere Rovers triumph in the National League play off final over Boreham Wood in 2018.
More recently he joined the Robins after a stint at Morecambe FC. He has made 1 substitute appearance for Altrincham this season and goes straight into the squad for the visit of AFC Telford United to the Impact Arena tomorrow as Billy Heath hopes he can bring some defensive solidity to the Reds backline.
