19 year old midfielder signs ahead of visit of Darlington

Alfreton Town are delighted to announce the capture of young 19 year old midfielder Owen German on a youth loan from National League side Altrincham FC.

German who was born in Crewe spent 11 years in the Academy set up at Crewe Alex before being released at the age of 16.

After his release from Crewe German decided to sign for National League Altrincham in 2022.
Owen is a versatile central midfielder, who is highly regarded by the Academy coaching staff and manager Phil Parkinson at the Robins.

German has enjoyed several loan spells at a plethora of clubs including Irlam Town and Wythenshawe Town in the North West Counties League making 10 appearances for both.
More recently Owen spent time at Stafford Rangers and Warrington Rylands in the Northern Premier League Premier Division at the end of last season. While at Stafford German made 12 appearances and scored his first goal.
For the 2024/25 season German has been at Witton Albion where turned heads scoring twice in 21 games putting in a number of eye-catching performances which saw him voted Witton Albion`s October Player of the Month.

In 2023, German gave an interview to the Altrincham website where he described himself as a deep lying midfielder, a player who loves to get on the ball and play.
German compared him to an Altrincham player familiar to Ofton fans in former Red Jake Moult. Moult joined Alfreton from Stafford Rangers in 2010 and was part of the conference North winning team of 2011/12.
German said he looks to get the ball and link up the play whether that's from midfield to defence or from the midfielder to more attacking areas.

Please extend a warm welcome to the Reds to Owen who goes straight in to the squad for tonight's home game against Darlington.
