Alfreton host Scarborough Athletic at the Impact Arena in a big clash in the National League North as Billy Heath look to cement their strong start to the league season.
The Reds have bounced back extremely well from an opening day defeat at Southport and head in to the game six matches unbeaten.
Scunthorpe looking to go one better than last season, have set the pace early on and sit six points clear of the rest of the back after seven games.
However it is extremely tight with just three points separating Kidderminster in second and Southport in thirteenth. Indeed their are only four points between fourteen teams s it is shaping to be another tight season ahead.
Billy Heath`s men currently occupy the final play off place in seventh with the Seadogs of Scarborough two places further back in ninth. Jonathan Greening`s team head in to Saturday`s game winless in three after an unbeaten initial start to the league season.
Both teams head in to the fixture on the back of goalless draws. In the case of Scarborough at home to Kings Lynn and of course for Alfreton a drab and uneventful trip to Darlington on Tuesday evening.
With so little separating the teams at this early stage of the season The Reds will be eager to pick up another home win which could see Alfreton climb in to standings and in the process extended the home unbeaten run to eighteen matches.
In fact Ofton have only lost two home games since November 2023 but one of those defeats was against the Seadogs so Billy Heath will be wary of the many threats posed by Saturday`s opposition.
