Alfreton Town will be looking to continue their impressive start to the season when they travel to Latimer Park to face Kettering Town in the Vanarama National League North on Saturday.
Billy Heath’s men are just one of four sides left in the division that are yet to lose a game this season, registering one loss in their last 15 outings– A devastating run dating back to April 2022.
However, Kettering boast an imposing record against the visitors in recent years, suffering only one loss to Alfreton in nine matches in all competitions, a 1-0 defeat in the Conference North in the 2006/07 season
Alfreton’s last competitive defeat came at the hands of the hosts back in May, when the Poppies’ striker Callum Stead sealed victory for his side with the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
Stead scored six goals in as many games last season, before making the switch to fellow National League North side Brackley Town in the summer.
The Poppies captured tenacious winger Andrew Oluwabori on a season-long loan from Peterborough United, with the wide man netting twice in the clubs first four games this campaign.
Despite finishing narrowly outside the play-off spots last season, Paul Cox’s side head into the fixture in a disappointing 18th place after early defeats to Fylde and Curzon Ashton.
The Reds will be looking to build from their magnificent 4-0 thrashing of Southport last week, in which frontman Dayle Southwell scored twice and earned himself a place in the Team of the Week.
Tickets for the match can be bought up until kick off on Saturday 27th August, with the prices at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £2 for kids accompanied by an adult.
