Alfreton Town host Hereford on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from defeat in their last Vanarama National League North fixture.
The Reds had enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, going five games without defeat, until a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chorley on bank holiday Monday.
An injury to Tom Denton in the first half forced Billy Heath to change his system. The Magpies took advantage of the Reds’ alteration in the second half, leaving with three points thanks to strikes from Jonathan Ustabasi and Ollie Shenton.
Hereford, managed by former Alfreton loanee Josh Gowling, have endured a rockier start to their campaign and currently occupy 17th spot in the table.
The Bulls have won two, drawn one and lost three of their opening six matches; losing their last two fixtures 3-1 against Gloucester City and Banbury United respectively.
Hereford have failed to beat the Reds in each of their last five meetings dating back to April 2019. Alfreton have won three times, including their most recent encounter last season, and drawn twice against the Bulls in that period.
Heath’s men kick off against Hereford at 3pm on Saturday. Tickets are available on the gate at the Impact Arena or via the following link - https://tktp.as/ELOTUL.
