Reds set to do battle with high flying Magpies in big National League North clash

Alfreton Town return to the rigours of the National League North on Saturday with the visit of play off rivals Chorley to the Impact Arena on Match Day 11.

The Reds head in to the fixture on a real high after an excellent, hard earned 1-0 win over Spennymoor Town in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round. Liam Waldock`s strike his third of the season, 14 minutes from time sealed progression in to the First Round proper for the twelfth time.
In truth lady luck has been on Alfreton`s side in the prestigious competition this season. after squeaking past Spalding on penalties after a dramatic equalizer from Billy Whitehouse in the 122nd minute, Alfreton squatted aside Biggleswade Town after managing to get the tie switched.
The Spennymoor victory was also controversial with Moors smarting after a first half goal was chalked off with Spennymoor manager Graeme Lee sent off after the game for his protests.
Chorley on the other hand were knocked out of the competition by Lee`s Spennymoor side in the Third Qualifying Round. Before Spennymoor made a return visit on Tuesday this time in National League North Billy Heath`s men will take on the magpies in league action.

Alongside Alfreton, Chorley have made an excellent start to their league programme suffering just the one league defeat in their eleven games played to date. Andy Preece side sit in second place after Craig Hewitt as goal secured a home win over Needham Market on Saturday
The Magpies only defeat came at home to Scarborough in August so the Lancashire are undefeated away from home in the league. Chorley are 8 games unbeaten while the Reds are 13 matches without defeat.
Billy Heath will be checking on the fitness of David Moyo and Max Hunt after the FA Cup win along with the availability of George Cantrill who missed his first games in months last time out.Billy Whitehouse is also set to face his former employers with whom he represented over 120 times.
Alfreton will also be eager to replicate one of their very best and complete performances of the Billy Heath era when they they comprehensively played Chorley off the park in a 2-0 Impact Arena win back in January.
