Alfreton Town are pleased to announce the signing of 22 year old goalkeeper of David Robson ahead of tonight`s National League North clash with Brackley Town at the Impact Arena.
Robson is a product of the Hull City academy and enjoyed a loan spell at a plethora of East Yorkshire clubs to gain first team experience.
As an inexperienced 16 year old Robson signed for NCEL Division One side East Yorkshire Carnegie in 2018. This was followed up by a spell at Stocksbridge Park Steels as they avoided relegation from the Northern Premier League First Division East. This was then followed by short spells at Tadcaster Albion and Gainsborough Trinity.
Robson then made a number of first team appearances for the Tigers of Hull City in the EFL Cup where he made his Hull debut against Bradford City along with the EFL Trophy,
It was not until 2022 that Robson gained further experience out on loan at Farsley Celtic as he helped the Celts avoid relegation from the National League North at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Ahead of the 2022/23 campaign Robson was once again sent out on loan to Crawley Town of Sky Bet League Two. Here he was handed his football league debut by Interim Red Devils boss Lewis Young in October 2022.
Crawley won 2-1 against Newport County and the Sussex express gave a Mark of 8/10 saying Robson commanded his box well and made a few great saves late on. In total Robson made three EFL League Two appearances for Crawley during his time with the club
David gained further National League North experience when he signed for Darlington in September 2023 keeping one clean sheet in five appearances for the Quakers.
After a second loan spell at Gainsborough Robson was released by Hull in the summer of 2024.
Most recently Robson has enjoyed a short term deal at National League side Rochdale where he made 8 first team appearances while at the Greater Manchester side.
Robson has also represented Wales at Under 15 and Under 21 levels. Making his U21 debut in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Austria in September 2022.
