Alfreton Town have progressed to the third round of the Buildbase FA Trophy, following Bedford Town’s withdrawal from the competition.

The Eagles had a confirmed positive case of Covid-19 this week.

However despite both clubs agreeing to play the fixture on Saturday; Bedford have now withdrawn due to several more players and a member of the management staff testing positive today, after a squad test.

Unfortunately, Bedford will be unable to field a side for the fixture and the Reds have progressed. We wish all at Bedford a speedy recovery and the best of luck for the season.

ATFC will now face National League Kings Lynn Town in the third round on Saturday, with a 3pm kick off.

Those who have purchased the Bedford stream will have refunds processed in the next few days.

Saturday’s fixture will be live streamed on ATFCTV and details of the stream will be announced at some point tomorrow.
