Reds set to host Poppies

Alfreton Town face the visit of Kettering Town on Tuesday evening with both sides aiming to strengthen their position in the play-off push.

Billy Heath’s men were on the wrong side of the score line last time out having lost 5-0 at the hands of Bradford Park Avenue. As a result, the Reds have now lost three of their last four games and will be desperate to bounce back with a positive result as soon as possible.

The Poppies travel to the Impact Arena without a loss in their last three matches. Ian Culverhouse`s side who recently took the managers hotseat after Paul Cox left to take the managers job at Boston, have picked up two wins and a draw in their short unbeaten run to date, their last result was 1-1 against Leamington.

Kettering are five points ahead of the Reds, although they have played an extra game, so Tuesday evening`s clash looks set to be a tasty affair between two teams with a point to prove.

The league table is extremely tight at the moment, which means a victory for either side could see them shoot up the table. A defeat, of course, could cause the opposite effect.

With that in mind, there is no doubt the supporters will have a huge part to play in this one, so get yourself down to the Impact Arena this weekend to cheer on the Reds!
