Club aided Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust with use of it's Impact Arena.

The Covid 19 Coronavirus outbreak broke at the beginning of 2020 and began to peak in March. Alfreton Town Football Club wasted no time in offering the Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust the use of its Impact Arena.

The NHS Foundation Trust took up the offer for use by clinical staff working in the community who used and continue to use the facility to provide a place to unwind, relax and catch up on calls and video calls in a safe environment, which means they are not restricted to their own vehicles, between visits to patients.

The facilities provide an opportunity for NHS staff to take comfort breaks, wash hands and take well deserved refreshment breaks.

Alfreton Town Football Club have been honoured to provide the facility totally free of charge as a gesture of its appreciation on behalf of its community. A gesture to aid the wonderful work that the NHS has been undertaking and continues to do so during the pandemic.

Alfreton Town FC Chairman, Wayne Bradley, commented:
“We are pleased to have been able to assist the NHS with the use of our facilities and hope that in some small way we have aided the wonderful NHS staff in providing a much needed safe location to re-charge their batteries during difficult times. The Football Club has risen to the challenge placed upon its community during the Covid 19 Coronavirus outbreak and will continue to do so in the future”

William Jones, Chief Operating Officer for Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust commented;
“We are tremendously grateful for the generous support of Alfreton Town Football Club in throwing open the doors of their club to our community health staff. Our clinical teams have continued to make home calls to patients for a range of NHS services throughout lockdown when all the usual places they might go for a break between patient visits, such as public buildings or coffee shops, were closed. The hospitality shown by the club has been superb in ensuring NHS staff who are on duty have a safe haven for a comfort break or to catch up with their admin over a cup of coffee. At this unprecedented time we are so proud of how the community has pulled together and been so generous with its support for the NHS.”
