23 year old rejoins after spell overseas

With just days to go until Alfreton Town get a tough and action packed pre season schedule underway Billy Heath is hard at work making additions to his squad.

Ahmed Salam is his latest capture as he re joins the Reds to work under Heath once more after just a single season away playing in the Gibraltar top flight for Manchester 1862.

Twenty three year old Salam originally joined Alfreton in 2022 ahead of the 2022/23 season where he made a total of 25 appearances scoring 5 goals including an equalizer on the last day of the campaign in the 1-1 draw at Brackley Town which was enough to secure a play off berth that season. Salam spent the 2023/24 campaign on the British overseas territory of Gibraltar where he helped Manchester 1862 to finish fifth in the top flight scoring 9 goals.

Salam won a penalty on his Alfreton debut in 2022 that secured a 1-0 win over Brackley Town and put in a number of strong and consistent performances.

Salam who is of Egyptian descent was born in Hull and was an academy graduate of the Tigers youth system. He joined Gainsborough Trinity on loan briefly before that was halted by Covid before making his debut for Hull in a 2-0 EFL Trophy win over Harrogate Town in November 2020.
Ahmed also enjoyed a successful time at Linfield on loan from Hull who inspired to win the North Irish Premiership title in 2021/22.
