By Car: From Alfreton, take the M1 southbound before joining the A42/M42 west. Continue onto the M5, then join the M50 at Junction 8. Follow the A40 toward Monmouth and then continue on the A465 (Heads of the Valleys Road) towards Merthyr Tydfil. Once in Merthyr, follow signs for the town centre, then for Penydarren Park. The stadium sits just off Park Terrace, with parking available in nearby streets and town-centre car parks.
By Train: From Alfreton Station, you would first take a train to Cardiff or Newport, then change for a connecting service to Merthyr Tydfil. From Merthyr Tydfil Station, the walk to Penydarren Park takes around 10–15 minutes, heading north toward Park Terrace.
By Bus: There isn’t a direct bus from Alfreton to Merthyr Tydfil, so the quickest public transport option is usually to travel to a major hub such as Cardiff, then transfer to a local bus heading to Merthyr Tydfil town centre. Buses stop close to the ground, with stops near the High Street only a short walk away.
Walking: Once you arrive in Merthyr Tydfil, Penydarren Park is an easy walk, located just a few minutes from the town centre (Park Terrace, CF47 8RF).
